ABOUT
I was raised in the Pacific Northwest on the Puget Sound and as I reflect on what has influenced my art and design work the most… I always come back to growing up on the water. The quality of light, the sound of the tide in its ebb, the stillness of the horizon, and the mountains seeming to grow up from it all, has distilled in me a passion for nature and a creative hunger to make something beautiful. I am trained in fine arts and architecture, with my early work mainly in ceramics and canvas painting. I have been actively painting on canvas for over 20 years now, and most recently have expanded into glass arts. With a Masters degree in architecture from University of Oregon, I have been practicing architecture now for close to a decade, and I find that both my art practice and architecture work inform each other. Light, color and composition are the driving elements in all my work.
j.works was conceived as a collection of my body of work, and has evolved over the years as a portfolio of my various creative endeavors. The work ranges from original canvas paintings, fused glass wall panels and glass sculpture to large wall graphics and photography. I have had solo shows at PDX International Airport, White Box Gallery, Cold Foot Gallery, Bullseye studio online galleries and various other group shows. I am currently taking commission work, custom design requests, and open to discuss any creative art project ideas you might have. I can be contacted directly by clicking on the ‘contact’ link at the bottom of this website, and to learn more about my work, click on the tab below.
